這個結(jié)構(gòu)用來表示雖然不必要但卻已完成的動作：
I neednt have written to him because he phoned me shortly afterwards.
我本來不需要給他寫信，因為不久之后他就給我打了電話。(但我的確寫了，因而浪費了時間。)
You neednt have brought your umbrella for we are going by car.
你本來不用帶雨傘，因為我們將要坐車去。(但是你卻多余地帶了傘。)
He neednt have left home at 6:00;the train doesnt start till 7:30.
他本不必6點就離開家;火車7點30分才出發(fā)。(因此他要等一個小時。)
