某些特定的不定式短語(yǔ)既可位于句首，有時(shí)也可位于句末。不定式的這種作用與修飾全句的狀語(yǔ)相似

　　To be perfectly frank，youre a bad driver.

　　非常坦率地說(shuō)，你車開(kāi)得不好。

　　To be honest， I just dont like him.

　　說(shuō)老實(shí)話，我就是不喜歡他。

　　To be fair(to him)， he wasnt entirely to blame.

　　說(shuō)句公平話，這事不能都怪他一個(gè)人。

　　To cut a long story short， we said，No!

　　長(zhǎng)話短說(shuō)吧，我們沒(méi)有同意。

　　To tell you the truth，Ive never met him./Ive never met him， to tell

　　you the truth.

　　給你說(shuō)真的，我從沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)他。
