漢語可說害怕某人做某事，但英語習慣上不說 fear sb to do sth。如：

　　■我怕他會拒絕我們。

　　誤：I fear him to refuse us.

　　正：I fear that he will refuse us.

　　■我怕她一個人去。

　　誤：I fear her to go alone.

　　正：I fear that she will go alone.

　　■我怕你們挨餓。

　　誤：I fear you to go hungry.

　　正：I fear that you will go hungry.
