　　It is summer. The sun is shining brightly. It is very hot. The Grasshopper is lying under the shade and drinking a cold glass of lemonade. The Ants are busy doing something.. 夏天里，陽(yáng)光普照，天氣非常炎熱。蚱蜢躺在陰涼處，喝著一杯清涼的檸檬水。螞蟻正忙著做事。

　　Grasshopper: Jeez! What a hot day! I am so hot and thirsty. Mmm.This lemonade is so sweet and cold. I love the summer.

　　蚱蜢：天啊!好熱的天氣啊!我又熱又渴的。嗯。。。這檸檬水又甜又清涼。我喜歡夏天。

　　Ants: One, two!

　　螞蟻：一、二!

　　Anta: Lets work!

　　螞蟻：我們工作吧!

　　Ants: Three, four!

　　螞蟻：三、四!

　　Ants: All day!

　　螞蟻：從早到晚!

　　Grasshopper: Look at those Ants. What are they doing? Why are they working so hard? It is too hot to work today. They must be crazy.

　　Queen: Come on! Work faster!

　　蟻后：加油!快一點(diǎn)! The Ants are busy gathering food. All of the Ants are sweating. 螞蟻們正在忙著收集食物。所有的螞蟻都在流汗。

　　Grasshopper: Oh, my, my! Look at those silly Worker Ants! They are likes slaves. Look at them sweat! Terrible!

　　蚱蜢：哦，我的天啊!看看那些笨工蟻!他們好像奴隸一樣。看看他們流汗的樣子!真可怕!

　　The Queen Ant tells the Worker Ants to work harder.

　　蟻后要工蟻們更努力地工作。

　　Queen: We dont have much time. Hurry up! We have to gather more food!

　　蟻后：我們沒(méi)有多少時(shí)間了。趕快!我們要收集更多的食物。

　　Ants: Yes, maam!

　　螞蟻：是的，夫人!

　　Grasshopper: Gather food? No time? What does the Queen Ant mean? There is lots of food here. How silly!

　　蚱蜢：收集食物?沒(méi)有時(shí)間?那個(gè)蟻后是什么意思?這里有那么多食物。笨死了!

　　The Grasshopper doesnt understand why the Ants are working so hard. But, he becomes a little curious. He calls the Queen Ant to talk. 蚱蜢不了解，為什么螞蟻們要如此努力地工作。可是他覺(jué)得很好奇。于是他去找蟻后。

　　Grasshopper: Hello there, Queen Ant! Can I ask you a question?

　　蚱蜢：嗨，蟻后!我可以問(wèn)你一個(gè)問(wèn)題嗎?

　　Queen: What is it? I am very busy.

　　蟻后：什么問(wèn)題?我很忙。

　　Grasshopper: It is very hot today. Come under the shade and rest for a while.

　　蚱蜢：今天很熱。到陰涼處來(lái)休息一會(huì)吧。

　　Queen: I dont have time to rest. Please ask your question.

　　蟻后：我沒(méi)有時(shí)間休息。請(qǐng)問(wèn)問(wèn)題吧。

　　Grasshopper: Okay. Why are you gathering food?

　　蚱蜢：好的，你們?yōu)槭裁匆占澄锬?

　　Queen: It will be winter soon. We must be prepared.

　　蟻后：冬天快到了。我們必須要有所準(zhǔn)備。

　　Grasshopper: The winter?! You must be kidding! It is July. Winter is far away. There is lots of food everywhere. Stop working. Come sing and dance with me.

　　蚱蜢：冬天?你在開(kāi)玩笑吧!現(xiàn)在是7月，冬天還早著呢!到處都與一大堆食物。別工作了。跟我一起唱歌跳舞吧!

　　Queen: There is no time to sing and play. Winter will come soon, I say. You should also gather some food. Or else, you will starve in the winter.

　　蟻后：我沒(méi)有時(shí)間唱歌玩耍。我說(shuō)冬天快來(lái)了，你也應(yīng)該收集一些食物。否則，在冬天你會(huì)餓死的。

　　Grasshopper: No, thank you. You keep working. Ill keeps singing and dancing in the shade.

　　蚱蜢：不了，謝謝你。你繼續(xù)工作。我繼續(xù)在陰涼處唱歌和跳舞。

　　Queen: Do as you please. But dont come to me for food later.

　　蟻后：隨便你。不過(guò)以后可別來(lái)找我要食物。

　　Grasshopper: Dont worry, I wont. There is lots of food.

　　蚱蜢：別擔(dān)心，我不會(huì)的。這里有很多食物。 The Queen Ant and the Worker Ants continue to work. 蟻后和工蟻們繼續(xù)工作。

　　Grasshopper: Poor Ants! They have no fun. I will sing alone.

　　蚱蜢：可憐的螞蟻們!他們沒(méi)有生活樂(lè)趣。我要一個(gè)人唱歌。 The Grasshopper sings his favorite song. 蚱蜢唱起來(lái)自己最喜歡的歌。

　　Grasshopper: Its summer. Lets have some fun. Lets sing and dance all day long. La, la-la, la, la. La, la-la, la, la What a great song!

　　蚱蜢：夏天到，讓我們一起玩樂(lè)。讓我們整天唱歌跳舞。啦、啦、啦。。。、啦、啦。。。、啦、啦。。。真是一首好歌。

　　The Grasshopper continues to sing and dance all summer long. He does not gather any food. Soon autumn comes and weather gets colder each day. The fields turn yellow and the leaves fall. The Grasshopper wakes up one autumn morning with a cold. 蚱蜢不停地唱歌和跳舞，整個(gè)夏天。他沒(méi)有收集任何事物。很快秋天來(lái)了，而且天氣一天比一天變冷了。原野變黃，樹(shù)葉開(kāi)始飄落。蚱蜢醒了，那是一個(gè)秋天的早晨，他著涼了。

　　Grasshopper: Achoo! It is cold this morning. It is much colder than yesterday. Where are all the leaves? Is it already autumn?

　　蚱蜢：哈啾，今天早晨真冷。今天比昨天冷多了。樹(shù)葉都到哪里去了?已經(jīng)是秋天了嗎?

　　The Grasshopper looks around the field. He suddenly realizes that summer is over, but he doesnt worry too much.

　　蚱蜢看看原野四處，他驟然發(fā)現(xiàn)夏天已經(jīng)結(jié)束。可是他卻不怎么擔(dān)心。

　　Grasshopper: It is a little cold. But its not too bad. And there is still enough food. I shall sing a little more.

　　蚱蜢：天氣是有點(diǎn)冷了，但還不是很糟。而且還有足夠的食物。我應(yīng)該再來(lái)唱些歌。

　　Grasshopper: La, la-la, la-la, la, la. La, la-la, la-la, la, la.

　　蚱蜢：啦、啦、啦。。。、啦、啦。。。、啦、啦。。。 The Grasshopper continues to sing and dance all through the autumn. The fields are now covered with snow, and the wind is very cold. There is nothing to eat. It is winter. 蚱蜢仍然繼續(xù)唱歌跳舞，整個(gè)秋天。現(xiàn)在原野已經(jīng)被白雪覆蓋。吹來(lái)的風(fēng)是那么的寒冷。已經(jīng)沒(méi)有東西可以吃了。冬天到了。

　　Grasshopper: Im very cold. I hate the cold weather. I hate the winter.

　　蚱蜢：我很冷。我討厭冷天氣。我討厭冬天。 The Grasshopper looks around for food in the cold. He is freezing and starving to death, but he cant find any food. 寒冷中，蚱蜢四處尋找食物。他冷得要死又餓得要命。但他卻又找不到任何食物。

　　Grasshopper: Where is all the food? I am so hungry and cold.

　　蚱蜢：食物都到哪里去了?我又餓又冷。 The Grasshopper is about to fall to the ground when suddenly he thinks of the Queen Ant and Worker Ants. 蚱蜢幾乎就要倒地的時(shí)候，突然想起了蟻后和那些工蟻們。

　　Grasshopper: I wonder what the Ants are doing. They must have lots of food. Perhaps, they might help me.

　　蚱蜢：不知道螞蟻們?cè)诟墒裁础Ｋ麄円欢ㄓ泻芏嗍澄铩；蛟S，他們可以幫我。

　　The Grasshopper finds the Queen Ants house. He hears singing and dancing coming out from the inside. He knocks at the door. 蚱蜢找到了蟻后的家。他聽(tīng)到唱歌和跳舞的聲音正從里面?zhèn)鞒鰜?lái)。他敲了敲門(mén)。

　　Queen: I wonder who it is.

　　蟻后：不知道是誰(shuí)啊!

　　The Queen Ant opens the door and is very surprised.

　　蟻后開(kāi)了門(mén)，她非常驚訝。

　　Queen: Mr. Grasshopper! What brings you here? And why are you so pale?

　　蟻后：蚱蜢先生!什么風(fēng)把你吹來(lái)了?你為什么這么蒼白?

　　Grasshopper: I havent eaten for five days.

　　蚱蜢：我已經(jīng)五天沒(méi)有吃東西了。

　　Queen: Why not? Didnt you gather any food during the summer?

　　蟻后：為什么?你在夏天沒(méi)有儲(chǔ)存任何食物嗎?

　　Grasshopper: No, I didnt. I was too busy singing and dancing.

　　Queen: Too bad. What do you want?

　　Queen: Well, okay. Just wait here for a minute.

　　蟻后：嗯，好吧。在這里等一下。

　　The Queen Ant feels sorry for the Grasshopper and goes to the kitchen to get him some bread. But when she comes back, the Grasshopper and his guitar have already frozen like ice. 蟻后覺(jué)得蚱蜢很可憐。于是她走到廚房里幫她拿了一些面包。可是當(dāng)她回來(lái)時(shí)，蚱蜢和他的吉他已經(jīng)結(jié)凍城冰了。

　　Queen: Poor Mr. Grasshopper! Why dont you sing and dance now?

　　蟻后：可憐的蚱蜢?你現(xiàn)在怎么不唱歌和跳舞了呢?

　　MORAL Dont be lazy. Always be prepared and diligent. Then you will always be happy.
