One hundred and twenty student took exams for it, but only a few were chosen and I was one of them. Therefore, my parents are not happy about it. They are strong against my going there. They say it is too far away that they will not see me for a whole year and they are afraid that I will feel alone. They can’t imagine a girl so young live alone. They advised me to study in the capital instead. Then I’ll be able to continue living with them. How can I persuade them to accept the fact I have grown up?
Best wishes,
Jane

書面表達(dá):
Senior High School Students’ Extracurricular Reading
A recent survey suggests that Senior High School students’ extracurricular reading varies from grade to grade. On average, Grade 1 students spend seven hours per week reading, Grade 2 four hours and Grade 3 two hours.
It occurs to that the distinction among students in different grades must have something to do with the increasing homework and pressure. As a result, students have to spend much more time preparing for tests, which leads them to the loss of their awareness of the importance of reading, as well as steals their passion.
In my pinion, both parents and schools should create a better environment to increase students’ reading time. For example, parents can read together with children on weekends and schools encourage students’ reading by reducing schoolwork.
